There is an interesting collections of place to see along the Southwest Water Front and a few blocks up from it. This was the area where Portland began and the first plots of land carved out and sold to start the city. There are still a few of the old cast iron front building to see and a number of restaurants. There are some popular Selfie spots here and a number of attractions to visit including:

One of the top spot for doing your selfie in Portland. It was supposed to be “Keep Portland Wired” but the printer misspelled the Bumper Sticker. The phrase is now infers the creativity of Portland. Locate on the back back Dante’s building across the street from Voodoo Doughnuts downtown.
Long time local know it as the white stage sign. White Stage swimwear occupied this building for decades and this was their sign. It has been changed several times over the years and now is a symbol for Old Town Portland. Best viewed from the walk way on the Burnside Bridge downtown. And that just happens to be right around the corner form Voodoo Doughnuts.
A selfie attraction. Marking the entry to China Town. First time in decades you can take you selfie without having a porn shop or a homeless camp in it. Many of the Chinese business have moved on. Located 4th ave and Burnside St. one block from Voodoo Doughnuts downtown.
The old downtown Voodoo Doughnuts neon sign. At 1 a.m. it is you beacon to a sugar rush.
Two revolving display cases show most of what is available. I like their chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate icing that is not displayed and you have to ask for it.
