Rocky Butte Natural Area – Joseph Wood Hill Park
This is as close as Portland comes to having a castle. Joseph Wood Hill Park is on the summit of Rocky Butte and surrounded by Rocky Butte Park. Mr. Hill founded a military school in Portland now gone and the park was brought about by his former students. It has some nice stone work and once had great 360 views though today most of it is blocked by trees. It still is a good place to watch airplanes land a Portland International Airport.
