OMSI (pronounced OM-Zee)
This is Portland’s and Oregon’s Science and Industry Museum. OMSI features exhibit halls for both it’s permanent collection and changing temporary ones. The Turbine Hall features exhibits about engineering, physics, chemistry and space travel. The Life Science Hall offers exhibits about Biology. Earth Science Hall features geology oriented exhibits.The Science Playground is for new borns to age six and has early childhood development opportunities.
OMSI contains both an ultra-large-screen theater and a large auditorium with a stage where annual events such as science fairs occur. Computer-aided and laser light shows are preformed daily in the Planetarium. And there is a real navy submarine you can go on, the USS Blueback.
