Cathedral Park is a nice neighborhood park locate in North Portland under the St. Johns Bridge. It gets it name from, the way the supports for the bridge look like a cathedral when you view through them. The park has access to the Willamette river to put in you canoe. This access to the Willamette River is what the original bank where Portland was founded looked like. With the harbor wall that is along banks downtown now it is hard to imagine what “The Clearing” would have looked like. There is also a nice dock you can walk out on to view up the river to downtown Portland.
Portlandia historic notes – this is where the first mill that produce 3X plywood was and it is where the last performance of “Star Trek in the Park” was held.
